Mare Nostrum

The Romans and the Carthaginias are at war! An enthusiastic young captain is eager to sail his bireme out against Rome’s opponents at sea, but is enthusiasm and confidence enough to attain glory, or will this captain’s story end beneath the waves of the Mediterranean?

Mare Nostrum is a single-player real-time naval combat action game set in the ancient Mediterranean. You command an ancient war vessel and are tasked to defeat hostile ships using your ship’s weapons while in turn avoiding getting sunk yourself. 

Manoeuvre yourself into an advantageous position by commanding your oarsmen and adjusting your ship’s rudder and sails to sink your opponents with your naval ram. Whittle down the enemy’s crew by peppering them with carefully aimed fire from your archer’s bows or even deck-mounted ballistae. 

Evade enemy fire to keep your crew safe, as you rely on them to man the oars and fire your weapons. Lose too many crew members and you’ll be a sitting duck and eventually sink!
